Physiotherapy FAQ’s

1. Why should I see a physiotherapist?
If you have a physical problem or injury that causes you pain and/or restricts your normal movements, daily activity or activity of recreation then our specially trained physiotherapist will assess, diagnose and treat your condition and injury .Our physiotherapist is able to offer a wide range of treatment options which optimizes your treatment plan, helping you to get back to your regular activities more quickly and effectively. A physiotherapist can recommend  the best way to treat problems with your muscles, bones and joints, circulatory or nervous system. A Physiotherapist can also advise you on ways to prevent potential health problems from occurring before they arise.

2.  What condition and injuries do physiotherapist deal with?
A visit to physiotherapist can address many physical ailments; too many to list them all. Some of condition include,
Ligament sprain
Muscle or tendon strain
Tendinitis (most common are Rotator Cuff tendinitis,Achillis tendinits,patellar tendinitis)
Work and sports related injuries
Overuse injuries (most common are Tennis and Golfer’s elbow,carpal tunnel ,De Quervain’s tendintis)
Neck and back pain
Postural problems
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Neurological Conditions

3. What should I expect on my first Visit?
Please expect to be at the clinic for 45 minutes to 1 hour for your first appointment.This allows your physiotherapist to complete full assessment and diagnose your problem, decide on an appropriate treatment plan and commence treatment.

4. Who pays for the treatment?
In most cases,private health insurance will cover your treatment for physiotherapy,you must pay for your session following each session,.A receipt will be issued .You will need to send the receipt to your insurance company to be reimbursed, along with the physicial referral(some insurance companies do not require referral)Visa,master Card,interact debit and cash are accepted.You can talk to the receptionist so we can help you clarify the process.

5. Do I need to bring anything ?
On your first visit, please bring a referral if you have one .If you are coming for an assessment for your hip or knee,please bring a comfortable pair of shorts that you can change into before assessment.If you are coming for an assessment for your shoulder,please bring a top that you are comfortable in.In case you forget, there will clean gowns available at the clinic for you to use.
